Hyde, London

A Victorian Landmark Reimagined

Originally completed in 1874 as a grand hotel, 15 Old Bailey has undergone several transformations over the years—most recently serving as office space. Today, it has been beautifully revived as a high-end boutique hotel, blending timeless Victorian architecture with modern luxury.

Historic Character, Modern Comfort

The building’s rich heritage presented both challenges and opportunities in integrating contemporary MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems. The design team worked meticulously to preserve the building’s original charm while delivering the performance and comfort expected of a luxury lifestyle hotel.

A New Chapter with Hyde

Now operated by Ennismore under the Hyde brand, the nine-storey hotel features 115 stylish bedrooms spread across eight floors, a vibrant ground-floor restaurant, and a speakeasy bar tucked away in the basement—each space thoughtfully designed to reflect the building’s unique character.

Engineering Excellence

The MEP strategy was a careful balance of innovation and preservation. Every system was designed to meet modern standards of sustainability, efficiency, and guest comfort, while respecting the building’s historic fabric. The result is a seamless fusion of old and new—where heritage architecture meets contemporary hospitality.
